Upon arriving after a long and hot motorcycle ride, we asked if there was a pool. We were told that there is a pool but it is closed for an undefined reason. We then told the desk clerk that means you don't have a pool. The clerk quickly corrected us and offered no apologies. Another matter was the inability or reluctance of the staff in handling a dog adjacent to our room who barked for 6 hours straight while we tried to sleep. The occupant of the room was working the night shift at a local hospital and for some reason thought it was okay to leave the dog in the room by itself. I finally called the police who then called the nurse to get the dog. The staff were totally incompetent in handling this matter. This was the worst hotel experience for me and my wife. After all that, the hotel would only discount our hotel bill by 50%. Absolutely shameful.

Perfectly acceptable hotel. Needed one night while we dropped a kid off at school and this perfectly fit the bill. No complaints. Good choice of eating establishments at nearby Vassar vacinity.n

Arrived for graduation at New Paltz - I like being able to walk outside to get to other rooms. Our group reserved 3 rooms, they were clean, nice.

The stay was pleasant overall, with a clean room and friendly staff. While the breakfast was limited and the room had a faint cigarette smell, the comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere made up for it. The hotel’s location was ideal for my visit, adding to the experience.

Located near where we had to be. Room was quite large (they said they upgraded us to a suite). Bed was comfortable and shower was good size.
Noise level was unbearable. Could hear the kids next door clearly and late. Had to turn off the heat because it made way too much noise. Still heard what I suppose was the heating system outside ...all night long. Got very little sleep. Beware of upgrades!

perfect base for city exploration with nearby parks and art
I really liked how close this place was to the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College, just a short walk away, and the beautiful Walkway Over the Hudson, a picturesque spot for a stroll with fine views. It made my weekend exploring both the city and its landmarks so enjoyable.

I was on a very tight schedule and they happily let me check in at 10:15 a.m., instead of making me wait until after 2 p.m. It was a lifesaver for my plans that day and I'm grateful to the manager for helping me out!
The room had some peeling paint and the chair had some stains.

Chaotic Experience
The condition of the hotel left much to be desired, with strong cannabis odors and unsettling noise levels. Seek assurance of a safer atmosphere if traveling with kids.

The room was quiet and clean and comfortable. There was a bit of a bad smell in our room when we checked in. We mentioned it to the woman at the front desk. With our permission, she went to our room while we were at supper and aired it out, so it smelled just fine when we returned.
The bathroom was a bit cramped.
